We stayed in the House for 2 nights. The 170 year old building has been renovated with a sensitive balance between maintaining the original quirkiness and ambience with modern bathrooms and appliances and furnishings. The building has numerous small rooms that are tastefully furnished and equipped with all the we needed for our stay. The environment was very relaxing and the host, Steve, was helpful, responsive and very pleasant. A lot of thoughtful touches were added, with the most welcome being the heating turned on in advance of our arrival, ensuring the property was very cosy when we settled in. This had not occurred at any other accomodation we have used over the past week while travelling through ACT, NSW and VIC. Port Fairy is a delightful town and I highly recommend this property for couples and families if you are looking for a comfortable stay with a thoughtful host.

The entire property was amazing. The cottage was clean and furnished beautifully. The contact from the owner was very welcoming and helped us feel comfortable from the beginning. The cottage was fitted out so well that we could have lived in there for weeks. The gas log fire was relaxing, the bathroom was new and well supplied. The beds were comfortable and the pool table was a fun added bonus that the teenagers really enjoyed. The lit up outdoor area would be lovely on a Summers night. We could not fault anything at all and our girls were so happy there that they wish we could have stayed longer and want to return. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Don't hesitate to book. Its a very short drive into town and a very easy location to find. Parking was great too.

Checkin was easy and clearly communicated by Steve our host. The cottage was on a beautiful pice of land with a lovely rural outlook. It is also quite near the highway, but we had no trouble with noise - the way the cottage is laid out and the protective trees act well as a noise reducer and we didn't even notice the traffic. The cottage is well appointed with the kitchen possessing everything we needed and as was advertised in the description. The car park is a short walk from the cottage but there are no stairs (which we were happy about!). Our sleep was quiet and peaceful. The cottage is a little drive from town - only about 3 mins, and Port Fairy is a lovely place. We would gladly stay here again!

I’ve been staying at Clonmara for years and it just keeps getting better and better. Steve and Anna are gracious hosts and the place always feels like home (but better and more comfortable). In fact it’s always a bit of a struggle to get ourselves out in the morning or make our way back into town in the evening for dinner as we just want to curl up in the living room, it’s so cozy. The country house is beautifully appointed, the beds are so comfortable, and the cottages are just perfect if you’re by yourself or with a partner. The most perfect way to experience Port Fairy, Clonmara makes it a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

We booked Clonmara at short notice as our travel plans changed due to the recent bush fires. However, we were absolutely delighted with our choice of accommodation, and the cottage surpassed our expectations in every way. The cottage has everything you need for your stay including a comfortable lounge, large screen tv, games, books and films. We particularly liked the bed orientation where you look out through glass doors towards the field with alpacas grazing. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer in Port Fairy, and enjoy the charms of Clonmara.
